Review:The ruby-garnet colored Bruchsaler 2022 Spätburgunder Gipskeuper opens with an intense and savory, quite aromatic bouquet with morello cherry, blackberry, rosewood and toasty/caramelly aromas. Silky, refined and elegant on the palate, this is a juicy, savory and saline, youthful and bitter-finishing Pinot with ripe yet coolish and spicy fruit and the refreshing tension of the gypsum marl terroir. This is a remarkably intense, perfectly ripe and iodine-infused Pinot with very fine and integrated tannins. The finish is long, intense and saline, very stimulating and promising. Still young, though. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in January 2025.
