Description

Vaglio is the boutique project of José Lovaglio, son of Susana Balbo, focused on single-origin Malbecs that express the nuances of Mendoza’s best subregions. The 2021 Aggie comes from select Gualtallary vineyards and is vinified with minimal intervention and aged in used barrels. It’s a beautifully vertical, precise wine, showcasing the chalky soils of the region with tension, fine tannins, and a cool, elegant finish. A pure, site-driven take on Malbec from a rising talent.

Reviewer:Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate (Robert Parker)
Review:I love the elegance and precision of the 2021 Aggie, produced exactly in the same way as the other three, but the soils really come through here with austerity, elegance and balance, a red with verticality and very fine tannins. I'm impressed! Delicious! It was sourced from different vineyards in Gualtallary and matured in used barrels for 12 months. 40,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2022.
