Dog Point Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2024
Organic, wild ferment, lees-aged – grown & made by Cloudy Bay alumni
Dog Point’s 2024 release is textbook Marlborough, with more depth than most. Wild-fermented and organically farmed, it’s zippy, citrusy, and super bright—but there’s also a creamy, savoury layer from time on lees. Benchmark stuff.

Description
Dog Point is one of Marlborough’s most respected names, founded by former Cloudy Bay winemaker James Healy and viticulturist Ivan Sutherland. Certified organic and known for their minimal-intervention ethos, Dog Point wines express texture, site, and balance above flashy fruit. The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc is grown on estate-owned clay and silty loam soils, fermented in stainless steel with native yeasts, and aged on lees. It’s a more refined, serious take on Marlborough Sauv Blanc—zesty and vibrant, but with savoury depth and complexity that reward slow sipping.

| Review: | The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc leads with a distinct nose of freshly picked curry leaf, crushed sea shells, lemon zest, asphalt, mustard seed, dried coriander/coriander seed and white flesh orchard fruit. This is powerfully fruited, has great energy and drive and, unsurprisingly, offers great pleasure and satisfying drinking. This is a very smart, savory wine here. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. |
