Description

Bodegas Sameiras is a rising name in Ribeiro, Galicia’s most historic wine region. The “Blanco 1040” is a traditional field blend of Treixadura, Lado, Godello, and Albariño—varieties that thrive on the granite and schist slopes of the Avia Valley. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in barrel, it delivers depth without losing freshness. This is a white with both local identity and wide appeal, offering tropical fruit, crisp apple, and a subtle creamy touch. A brilliant introduction to Galicia beyond Albariño.

Review:The 2022 Blanco 1040 combines Treixadura, Lado, Godello and Albariño from Ribadavia, Valle del Avia, Ribeiro. It was fermented in tanks before aging in barrels. Aromas of caramel, tropical fruit, apple and a touch of vanilla emerge. The creamy palate offers good volume, balanced freshness and malic tension, with oak enhancing the texture. This is a commercially appealing wine with a distinctive style.
