Description

Familia Zuccardi continues to lead the charge in site-driven, high-altitude Malbec. Their Polígonos series explores distinct sub-regions of the Uco Valley, and this 2022 Gualtallary bottling captures the taut, mineral core of this limestone-rich zone. Made with partial whole bunch and aged in concrete, it offers aromas of crushed plum, herbs, and sour cherry, with chalky tannins and a compact, linear palate. A strikingly pure, expressive Malbec with signature Gualtallary tension.

Review:The 2022 Malbec Polígonos del Valle de Uco Gualtallary was 40% fermented whole bunches and spent a winter in concrete vats. Purple in hue. The nose offers notes of pennyroyal, herbs, sour cherry and crushed plum. Dry and fairly rich on the palate, the chalky tannins and juicy flow make for a compact mouthfeel. The 2022 revels in the tension between the austere style and lush region.
